Brrrl. inq ame Avenue Area Parking. Commissioner Graham asked if one-
hour parking area on chapin Avenue had been posted. Mr. I,loore said,
Yes. Commissioner craham briefly discussed Burlingame Business &
Professional Association's suggestion that the one-hour free parking
at christrnas time be lengthened from November through January, on a
trial basis.

NEW BUSINESS
Commissioners Sulger and Aliamus expressed interest in promoting
bicycle safety programs. It was decided to include this item in
the November meeting.
Dept., of Transportation letter re. intersection of Barroilhet Avenue
and El Camino Real. The Commission requested that City Staff contact
the City of San Mateo to conduet a joint study of the proposal.
Commissioner Su1ger stated he felt that the problem of illegal parking
is a continuing one. He felt that more enphasis should be placed on
enforcing the pertinent ordinances.
Commissioner Graham mentioned a lack of signs directing motorists to
the public parking facilities in the Burlingame Avenue Area. Mr. Moore
stated he wouLd check and report back to the Comrnission.
Mr. I"loore proposed making North and East Lanes a one-way street, Bast
and Southbound. After general discussion, Commissioner Sulger proposed
and Commissioner Graham seconded that the Commission endorse the
proposal. Carried by unanimous "Yes" vote.
Chairrnan Subbotin suggested that the agenda for November include the
election of officers.
