the propoeal to reverse the travel directions on Capuchino and Paloma
Avenueg would create additional delays in making Laquna Avenue one-way
and entail considerable staff effort to attain a minimal improvement.
|[he Commission concurred and Com. Fehlhaber moved, seconded by Com.
Kreling, that a reconunendation be made to Council that Laguna Avenue be
made one-way northbound between Carmelita and Broadt ay. Motion passed
unanimously.
Stop sign at Vancouver Avenue and Hillside Drive. Mr. Wereda was
present and made a presentation regarding a new Stop sign for westbound
traffic on Eilleide Drive at Vancouver Avenue. Sgt. O'Brien explainedthe reason the sign wae removed was because vehicles were having problems
stopping on an up-grade. Mr. I{oore endoreed the installation because of
the present atypical Stop sign configuration and the reatricted vertical
sight distance. Itlot ion by Com. Kreling, seconded by Con. Cappa, to
recommend Stop sign be installed. Com. Fehlhaber moved, seconded by
Com. Lehrfeld, that this installation be evaluated eix months after
inetallation. Both, the i.nitial motion and the .rmendment thereto were
unanimously approved .
Burlingame Avenue Area Parki,ng. Brief discussion follorved by request
for Staff to obtain copies of the Commission's report fo! the new
Coruni,s6ionera.
New Comrniesion appointmentE. Lot6 were drawn at this time to determine
which of the new Conmissioners would asaume the unexpired term of
conuni.ssioner Graham. It was determined that Itlr. Cappa would assume that
term. Itre Conmis sioners asked that a telephone and address list of the
Commissioners be prepared for each medber-

CURRENT BUSINESS:
Review of minutes from other Commiesions. Council minutes were
reviewed. Free one-hour parking during the hol.idays and its impact
on funding if a future parking structure is contemPlated.
Reviewed Planning Commission minutes of Novedber 24, 1980. General
discuseion of parking variance for 701 Fairfield Road. Requested
staff to provide information as to the specific duties and respons-
ibilitiee of the Traffic, safety and Parking commission.
Cloaing of Oxford,/cahbridge Roads at EI camino ReaI. staff reported
that Caltrans stated on Monday, Decerdbe r 8, 1980, that they would be
ready to proceed in two or three weeks.

existing yellor,r zones in the Burlingame Avenue area was provided by
Staff. A general discuesion followed. A request was rnade that the
Police Department prepare a review of the uses and viability of the
loading zones for the January, 1981, meeting.

OLD BUSINESS:
Ihe new red curb adjacent to the llike Harvey auto dealership on
Rolling Road was brought up by Com. Ellis. He asked why parking
realignment at Lorton and Hor^rard Avenues had not been done, but the
subject red curb could be installed so expeditiously. com. fehlhaber
felt that there was too much red curb and asl(ed if making the Harvey
driveway one-qray $restbound had been considered. lilot ion by com.
Fehlhaber, second by Com. Lehrfeld, to City Manager requeeting staff
recommendation regarding the necessity of maintaining all the red curb
from Toyon Drive northerly.
NEW BUSINESS:
Com. Kreling moved, seconded by Com. Fehlhaber, that a representative
of the County Bikeways Cotnmittee be invited to a future Commission
meeting to give a brief overview of the status of bikeway funding and
any proposed bikeway improvements in Burlingame. Unanimously approved.
