Ms. z irNne rman presented a petition, signed by thirty-two employees at
12oo and 12O1 Howard Avenue, requesting that four-\ray stop signs or
traffic signals be installed at the intersection of Lorton Avenue and
Horrard Avenue. After general discuesion, the Commission requested
staff to update the information on the intersection for Commission
review at the July 10, 1980 meeting. They invited lrls. z irnme rman to
that meeting.
CURRENT BUSINESS
a. Burl ingame Avenue Area Parking. Staff presented a color-coded
map showing the recommendations finalized by the Commission. It
was decided that the four-hour meters be installed in lots C, D, E, &
J only (1O% of the total stal-ls to be four-hour on a trial basis);
that the easterly side of Primrose Road and of Lorton Avenue, and the
westerly side of Park Road bethreen Howard and Bayshtater Avenues be
converted to ten-hour max imum parking limit (excluding green and yeli.ow
zones) and be metered at ten cents/hr. fee. trhey also recomnended that
the southerly side of Bellevue Avenue (Almer to Primrose Road) and the
southerly side of Douglas, Primrose to california Drive, be converted
to ten-hour maximum time limit, and be metered at ten cents, hour.
Com. Foley reviewed minutes of Planning Commission dealing with
private off-street parking.

e. Commission recommended that Caltrans include feasibility study
of a new traffic signal at El camino Real and Bellevue Avenue
in their upgrading study of existing signals on El Camino ReaI .

OLD BUSINESS None.
NEW BUSINESS
1. staff recommendation that a "No Parking" ordinance for night-
time hours be initiated for Broadway, to allol^t the street-
sweeper to clean the street properly. Itlotion by Com. I'oley, second
by Com. Ellis, that Conmission recommend to Council "No Parking,
4:O0 a.m., to 6:00 a.m.," on Broadway. Unanimously approved.
Commission recommended that al} merchants should be contacted before
any changes are made.
2. Staff recoNnended posting the westerly frontage road in front of
the Burlingame Plaza vrith "No Parking, 2:00 a.m., to 6:00 a.m.,"
signs to stop cornmercial vehicles from using it for vehicle storage.
Motion by Com. Kreling, second by com. Fehlhaber, to endorse staff
recommendation. Unanimous "Yes" vote.
Commission reminded staff to forward their recommendation of the
May 8th meeting regarding removal of the hooded two-hour parking
signs in the Broadway area, to City council , as well as the signs
Carmelita Avenue.
