Approval of Minutes of November 11, 1983. Approved as issued.
Request for a Four-Way Stop at Howard/Arundel . Residents as Iisted
above attended the meeting. Marti Knioht expressed again their con-
cerns for the safety of the school children and the soeeds of traf-fic at Howard and Arundel . Sgt. Parkin reported that radar was being
used for speed enforcement on this street and that approximately tencitations had been given in the past week. Commission's discusion
fol I owed:
No waffants for Stop sign are met.
tlould like to find some way to help situation.
Appears that provision of Stop sign is issue, not speeds on Howard.
Playground is used by children throughout the day.
Usually speeds midblock increase after placement of Stop signs
such as these. This can endanger pedestrians crossing Howard atother I ocations.
Criteria for keeping crossing guard at this Iocation may be
affected by Stop signs.
