Discussion. 4.2 4.2.2 1 1811 Trousdale Drive - Request for Curb Parking Changes. Donald L. Turner representing Peninsuia Hospital and Medical Center expressed the need for either a white zone or handicap parking for the vans coming in to unload people who are in wheelchairs and dis- abled. Staff comments: Have no problems with request; use of thisarea is changi ng. Corxnission discussion: .Number of handicapped spaces requested (2)is too.many; handicapped spaces can be used by iny handicapped,' may not address.hospital's problem; handicapped fiom other' buiiainqs ryy tie up alI day; white zone would better soive hospital problemi.It was moved and seconded (Lehrfeld/Cappa) to approve instailationof white zone. Motion carried. Mr. Turner will work with staff todevelop specific l ocati on. 1710 Trousdale Drive - Request for Green 24-Minutes parking Zone. Geo. Karnal of the Red Cross,.expressed the need for a gre6n zonefor the people coming in to pick up supplies, kits, etc.- He alsorequested the curbs on either side of the driveway be extended inred since people do park so close to the entrance of driveway, almostblocking entrance. Staff comment: Agree with need; have no problem w.ith request. Commission discussion: Agree with need; increasing red zone may resultin loss of parking; suggest staff review this with Mr. Karnal , It was moved/seconded (Lehrfeld/Cappa) to approve request. Motion carried. Parkin stated that this is the only retail on thisstreett there are currently no parking restrictions on-the street;very often there are new cars being unloaded or stored on the streetusing all curb access; engineering staff has no problems with re-quest. A[-parently curb markings are painted after the requesting party pays ifee and gets a permit. The markings are then subject io a ,,iuhset,, clause. The Commission felt that Bur'l ingame was imal l enough that themonitoring of curb markings could best be done informal'ly by staff and the Cornmissioners. .1 Council and other Commission Minutes.
