Approved as corrected (4.2.l) Absent: Present: Staff Present: Chairman Lehrfeld we'lcomed Commissioners ElIis and Foley for their extended serviceunti'l suitable replacements can be appointed. He a'lso iommended them for theirI0ng and diligent service to the commission. Their contributions have been in-valuable and also to the public by increasing the safety and convenience to our road-ways, They shal1 be sorely missed in future-deliberations. 4.2 Discussion. 4.2,1 El camino Real and chapin Avenue parking - st. paul's Episcopal church. For thby th were h e October and November meetings, complaints have been presented e official representing the Church regarding difficulties vehiclesavrng when trying to exit the Church parking lot onto Chapin Avenue. Sgt. Haseleu recommended to the Commission to eliminate two oarkinospaces by extending red eurb across from the Church driveway.'After "dis- cussion by the Conrmission, motion was made and carried (Foiey/EI1.is) to.remove the two parking spaces and extend red zone. Approved un_' anrmous ly by the Commission. Juanita Avenue Parking near California Drive - Anthony School . Seven residents of this area attended the November meeting. They pre_ ::lteg a pet'ition signed by twenty-one residents, requesting tire-City,shelp in resolving the parking problem on this street. They'expressel 99l9efns regarding the parking.day and night by students attending theschool. Some driveways are being blocked completely; others partiallyblocked. Since this is a very narrow street, it coirid be most dif-ficult for an emergency vehicie to have adequate access on this streetwrth so many cars being parked during school hours. J. Staff reported that the have bee installed on California nita Avenue/Rh inette Avenue/Laguna Motion was made and carried by the Commission (Foley/El Iis) that staff prepare a letter for Chairman Lehrfeld's signature' to the administrative head of Anthony School explaining the ex- isting parking problems caused by students attending this school. Also, to suggest perhaps a meeting could be scheduled with the school and City staff to discuss possible ways of a1 leviating these oroblems. The Commission approved unanimously. Letter dated November 11, 1985 from Ann S. Parsons,owner of the DolI House located on Broadway regarding one-way for Laguna Avenue (one block only) north of Broadway; between Broadway and Rhinette, a copy of this'letter was issued to the Commission for further review.
