Rod Hooker 4.2 Discussion. 4.2.L Hillside Drive/cabrillo and cortez - Hazardous Traffic conditions. Chairman Ellis suggested that this item be sp1 it and that the re-quest for a red zone on Cabril lo be separated from the stop light on Hi I I side. Representatives from 0.1,A. gave a brief presentation on the needfor both a red zone and a stop 1ight. Staff Comments: Tom Moore had no objection to red zone but does notwant a time zone. Sgt. parkin a'lso had no concerns with red zone on. Cabril'lo. He did note that there was an enforcement problem oncortez with church and church school parking on the west side of cortezin the 'rNo Parking,,zone. Conmission Discussion: No probiem with red zone as requested. Agreeshould not be ,'timed,, zone--too confusing. },liIl not adversly aff6ct nei gh bors . It was moved/seconded ( Leh rfel d/Johnson ) to instal l a red zone on theeast side of Cabrillo from Hillside to the second church driveway.Motion carried unanimously. The Conrnission then addressed the stop light issue. Staff report: Traffic Engineer Moore was opposed. The location doesnot meet warrants. There is an existing stop Iight at Cabrillo (oneblock away. ) 2 TSP MINUTES - Cont'd. +.2.r 4.2.2 (Cont'd. ). Pedestrian can cross there. Sgt. Parkin stated that main problem may be vision problem at intersection. Parked trucks may blockmotorists' view of crossing pedestrians. Commission discussion: Suggest that 0.1.A. representatives meetwith Sgt. Haseleu to inspect obstruction problem. Defer to February Agenda. Request for Green Zone - 411 Primrose Road. Conrnission discussedthe two existing driveways at this location and how they coulfor unloading and loading the elderly patients coming to visiBaer. Since it is the wish of the Commissioners to avoid iss dbetDr uanc u sed eof more green zones, it was moved and seconded (foley/Lehrfeld) to deny the request for a green zone in this location. Thomas Moorewill send correspondence to Dr. Baer informing of action taken. Request for Green Zones 850/855 Stanton Road. Thomas Moore illus-trated on a diagram the existing green zones on Stanton Road, citingthe number of existing green zones. He recornmended against removingexisting parking to establish additional green zones. Commission discussion: Agreed with Traffic Engineer Moore. In some cases, green zone exists directly across street from requesting bus-iness. It was moved/seconded ( Leh rfe l d/Abrahamson ) to deny requests. Motion carried unan imously. Request to change lo-Hour Parking Meters to 2O-Minute - Lorton Avenue.It was Commission's decision to make no change and the request was de-nied. Haseleu was introduced to the Commission and Staff by Sgt. Parkin as his replacement. Sgt. Parkin will go on to his new duties of being a Detective for the Burlingame Police Department. We wish him the best in his new job. He is to be commended for thefine work he did with the Traffic, Safety and Parking Cornmission for the past two years. The Commission and Staff welcomes Sgt. Haseleu and are looking for- ward to working with him. .4 Election of 0fficers for 1985. Election held with no opposition for any position. Newly eiected 0fficers as follows: Hamy M. Lehrfel d, Chairman Ernie Sul ger, Vice Chairman Michael C. Abrahamson, Secretary 'I lis was commended on his professionalism and hard work tenure as Chairman. He performed an immeasurable service he City of Buriingame and its citizens. The Commission thank Comm. El I is for his leadership. nE hisht
