1. CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 P. M.

4.1.1 Approval of Minutes of 10, 1986.
Commission approved as issued.
4.1.2 Handicapped Parking Spaces in City Lots.
Staff reported (Sgt .Haselieu)' that all Commissioners
handicap spaces in the parking lots are Absent:
being used throughout the day, but very
few are being used for long-term parking. Staff

The Police Department issued 56 tickets in
April; 52 in May.
Recommendation by Staff is to put four (4) ad-
ditional handicap spaces in parking lots. There
will be one space for each of the following lots:
D, E, K and R.

The Commission discussed placing a second space in Lot "K" and re-
locating one handicap space from Burlingame Avenue and Primrose
Road, closer to the E1 Camino Real on the north side of Burlingame Avenue.
Motion was made and seconded by the Commission (Auran/Sulger) to accept
Staff's recommendation and moving the on -street space. This was ac-
cepted unanimously by the Commission.
4.1.3 Request for Handicap Zone - 29 Stanley Road.
After some discussion, Staff felt there (Sgt. Haseleu) was a legitimate
need for the handicap space at this location. Motion was made and seconded
by the Commission (Auran/Sulger) to install a handicap space at this loc-
ation; unanimously accepted by the Commission.
5. INACTIVE ITEMS.
5.1 Rollins Road/Easton Creek Culvert Red Curb (Review 10/86.)

6. NEW BUSINESS.
6.1.1 Correspondence. None
(Correction of Minutes per Comm. Meeting 8/14/86)
"6.1.2 Parking on Rollins Road - Adjacent to Peninsula Sports Center .(Comm.Hollman.)
Comm. Lehrfeld looked at this location before the meeting. After much dis-
cussion, Staff did not feel that painting "SLOW" on the street would help
deter the speed of traffic in this area. Also, that little or no results
would be gained. However, since staff indicated that the cost would not
exceed $50, a motion was made and seconded (Holtman/Lehrfeld) to try the
painting temporarily until construction work commences in this area whereby
the streets will be torn up and repaving will be done. In the meantime, it
will be determined by Staff and the Commission what the end results will be
from the temporary painting. This was unanimously approved by the Comm.

He will relocate in San Diego, California.
Commissioner Lehrfeld expressed on behalf of the Commission, appreciation to Comm.
Abramhamson for his service on the Traffic,. Safety and Parking Commission and that
he will be missed by all.
8. ADJOURNMENT.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p. main memory of Thomas E. Moore who passed away
May 22, 1986. Tom has served as Traffic Engineer for the City and the Traffic,
Safety and Parking Commission for the past 11-1/2 years. He will be greatly missed
by all.
