Comm. Hollman motioned that this request be deniedwithout prejudice; seconded by Comm. Evans. Un-
animousLy approved by the Commission. Reason fordenial was the results of several weeks of obser-vation of this location and it was determined thatthere was not a need for two-hour parking here.
Commissioir requested that a representative of this
company attend the meeting so he could make a pre-sentation before Commission. There was no onepresent for this. Commission requested staff send aletter to this firm inforning them of the Commission,sdenial of this request and that is was made $rithoutprejudice should they wish this requestto be reconsidered in the future.
Commissioner OrDonnelI visited this location again andstated that he had not seen a truck parked here and wasnot in favor of a yel1ow Zone. He made the motion todeny this request; seconded by Comm. Auran; unanimouslyapproved by Cotnmission. Commission requested letter besent to owner j.nforming him of the Commissionrsdecision and after weeks of observation, it was decidedthat the need for a yel,low Zone r"ras insufficient.

Mr. Bil]. Friedman of SamTrans attended meeting and gavepresentation to Commission regarding their buiestraveling in this area and trow it wis possibte toreroute them if necessary. He invited suggestions onhow to alleviate the problems involved. Ee stated thatSamTrans had been looking at the Burlingane Avenue arearecently. He reviewed the present bus r6utes to theComml-ssion and is wil1ing to explore changes of variousroutes .
Commission would like a survey made by SamTrans todetermine just how many people are utilizing certainbus routes for transportation each day. Commissionwould like the results of this survey for the Februarymeeting sj.nce this will be on the agenda under ActionItems.
Tom Sine expressed his concern regarding seniorcitizer's who depend entirely on pibtic ira.r=_portation, especially to get to ttre RecreationCenter to the various daily activities.

Traffic Engineer prepared a report for the Com-
mission entitled "Intersections of Burlingame Ave-
nue/Anita, Arundel and Myrtle Road. " This reportprovides data that has been collected on volume
counts, traffic accidents, vehicle speeds and busoperations. The data shows that the warrants for
Stop signs on Burlingame Avenue are not met at anyof the referenced intersections. This report con-sisted of five Exhibits; the Traffic Engineer pre-
sented each of these to the Commission.
It was moved and seconded (Comm. McDonnell/Evans )that Traffic Engineerrs proposal be accepted. Com-mission decided to place this item in the Inactive

Mr. Walter Kentzler, 401 Primrose Road, attended themeeting. The Commission had received previously his
correspondence stating his requests and also sig-
natures of his neighboring retailers. The Com-mission requested the Traffic Engineer to look atthis area and make a report to determine if there is
abuse regarding the parking meters. He will bringthis report to the October meeting. This item $riII
be on the Agenda under Action Items for October.

Eight home owners from the Adeline Drive area werepresent for the meeting. Each introduced. tfremstevesand stated their resident ad.dresses to the Commis-sion. After much di-scussion from the visitors, eachstating that there did not appear to be a problemwith the student parking.and they were much opposedto an hourly limit on the parking in this area.Terry Fibich acted as spokesmah for the residents.He stated that any time limit measure on the parkingin this area would be a hi.ndrance to the residents -
since many of them have domestic help reporting for$/ork each day and have to park on the street forseveral hours. A1so, that may of the residents hravemore than one car and must park on the street.
It was moved and seconded (Comm. Koenigs/McDonnet t )that the proposal for two-hour parking be deniedwithout prejudice to Ms. Johnston of 2509 AdelineDrive and that she has the option to pursue thiswith the City Council.

The Traffic Engineer did a survey of Lorton Ave-nue/Park Road south of Howard. Hj.s recommendationto the Commission was that six ( 6 ) of these metersbe changed over to t$ro-hour meters.
