Election of nev, officers for the Commission.
Motlon was made and seconded to nominate Comm. OrDonnell as
Chairman; Comm. Evans was nominated Vice Chairman; Comm.Herold nomlnated as Secretary. AIl nonlnation approvedunaninously by the Commlssion. The meeting *as tirenturned over to Chairman OrDonnell.

Stop Signs - Broadway West of EIand Monitoring of Broadway Traffic
Seventeen residents of this area attendedmeeting, many expressing concerns for Stopsigns .
Chairrnan O'Donne11 expressed his concern tovisj.tors for the letter they sent to Councilthis subject while the Commission was stillconsiderlng the matter.

Traffic Engineer Keith Del1away, gave a trafficreport on this area. Staff's position has notchanged from the last meeting. Staff does notrecommend a four-way Stop. In a new speedsurvey during the morning peak hour, staff didnot find any speeds up to 7O mphi the speedswere found to be in the normal range as werethe previous speeds taken during the off peakhours. Statistics r"rere given by Sgt. Harris onnumber of citations, warnings, etc. and thesedo not meet warrants -

Safeway Employee Parking in LO-Hour
1450 Howard Avenue.
Bob Brisbee, representing Safeway employees,gave a report to the Conmission on Safeway'spolicy for enployee parking. They are not topark in the Safeway parking areai this issupposedly reserved for customer parking only.He suggested that two-hour parking meters beconverted back to ten-hour meters. Lot "K" iswhere 18 meters r4rere converted to two-hourmeters; this conversion was made L7 months ago.Traffic Engineer DelLavray informed Safeway
employee representatlve that the Safe$ray
empLoyees were entitled to park in the
Safeway parking lot. The purpose of the
Safeway Lot ls to accommodate both employee andcustomer parking. Atso, there is a CityParking Lot across EI Camino ReaI which isnormally only one-half fuII and employees couldpark there for $1.00 for ten hours.
