Request for Handicap Parking Space - post
Office - Handicap Ramp Completion
Comm. OrDonnell stated that the post Offi.ceHandicap Ramp serves both park Road and LortonAvenue; although it is closer to park Road.Mr. DeIlaway stated that the City Managersuggested the handicap parking space beallocated to the first parking stalI in thepublic parking lot adjacent to the ramp on thePark Road side. Eowever, the railing needs tobe cut down to provide access to the ramp fromthe Iot. There is one other handicap space inthe Iot, but it is not near the ramp. It was
moved and seconded (Comm. Mayer/O'DonneII ) towj.den the first parking sta1l in the parkinglot to 1.2 feet to accommodate handicap parking;
unanimously approved by the Commission.

6.1.1 Request Extension of Red Zone atApartments - 1O7O Carolan Avenue

Comm. OrDonneII reviewed the site and suggestedthat red zones be extended for the otherdriveways. Comm. Evans asked if there weremany accidents there. Mr. Dellaway statedthere were none in the last year.

O'Donne11) to move this item to an Action ltem.
Comm. Simonetti asked how many parking spaceswould be given up. Mr. Dellaway stated thatonly one space wi I1 be taken ar^ray . There wasdiscussion about iltegal parking in the redzone; however, Officer Ickes stated that otherthan moving vans, there have been no viol-a-tions. It was moved and seconded ( Comm.Evans/OtDonnell ) to extend the red zone infront of 1070 Carolan Avenue south of thedriveway to the fire hydrant; unanimouslyapproved by the Commission. Comm. Evanssuggested that a letter be sent to the residentas to what action has been taken. Mr. Del1awaywill send the letter.
Request for Two Information Signs at Corner ofDonnelly and Lorton; and Request for Two 24-Minute Parking Spaces - 344 and 350 Lorton

Pri-nting (35O Lorton). was present to exptainthat her clients take ten minutes of parkingtime r^rhi1e the restaurant patrons take onehour, p1us. She said there are two 24-mlnuteparking spaces across the street that witt notbe needed by the nev, restaurant there. Also,she stated that she saw that the two informa-tion signs she requested have already beenpl aced .
Mr. Dellaway stated that the information signswere placed without the need for Commissionactj.on. Mr. De].1a$ray suggested that the twoexisting 24-mlnute parking spaces across thestreet be exchanged with the two existing 1--hour spaces in front of 344 and 35O Lorton. Itwas moved and seconded ( Comm. O'DonnelI/Simonetti ) to move thj-s item to an Action Item.Subsequently, it was moved and seconded (Comm.
O'Donne1l/Evans ) to make Meter Nos. 6O and 6L(in front of 344 and 350 Lorton) 24-minutezones and the two meters across the street tobe changed from 24-minute to l--hour zones;
unanimousLy approved by the Commission.
Comm. Mayer stated that there is no crosstralkon the soutft corner of Broadway and Rollins toreach the overpass. Mr. Dellaway stated thatCaltrans is responsible for this area and trassaid "no" to any crosswatk here due to cost andthat they will be reconstructing this inter-
change .

Comm. Evans advised that a complaint isforthcoming about cars speeding on Capuchino
between Broadway and Carmelita with a recommen-dation for speed bumps on Capuchino with thePolice Department monitoring. Speeding occursin late evening when local bar closes. OfficerIckes took note of this situation. Comm. Evansalso advised that a petition is being routed.
Officer Ickes received a caII in JuIy from 4l-5Burlingame Avenue regarding signs and markingsfor no skateboards or bicycles on sidewalks inthe downtown area. City of Palo Alto is a good
example with marked curb corners. No letter isanticipated.
