Karp checked out the situation of resi-dents sharing parking spaces with businesses on this block and spoke to a neighbor who saiditts not a great inconvenience, occasi-onalIyitts a problen. Petitioner lras not present.Staff and CoDm. Karp reconmended denial. It hras moved and seconded (conn. sinonetti/Karp)to deny this reguest; unanimously approved bythe Conmission. Request to Change z-Hour Parking Spaces to 4-Hour Spaces on 200 Block of CaLifornia Drive Conm. Evans stated that this had beendiscussed last nonth with no negative inpactexpected on this request. It was moved andseconded (Co'n'n. Karp/Evans) to grant thisrequest for four of the five parking spacesfronting the dealership; unaninously appiovedby the connission. 15 5.6 A special study session rras held on Novenber L7, Lgg3establishing guidelines for parking zones in theRollins Road/Adrian Road area. For fnactive Item Nos.5.1 - 5.6, it was moved and seconded (Conn. sinonetti/Karp) to inplenent the guidelines established at thlSpecial Study session held on November L7, 1993;unanimously approved by the comnission. 2 Traffic, 5.7 6. NEW BUSINESS. 5.1 Request for creen zone at 850 uitten Road Ilessrs. valenti and Ruggieri were present to advise thattheir business is moving to this area and expect a lot of wholesalers and retailers to make brief stops at their business and desi.re a lJreen zone along their gO-foot curb. They have kept a 1og of the cars parking at thisLocation. For days the same cars are parked there from 7:00 a.n. to 3:00 p.m. An Avis van arrives to drop off 8-10 people who then drive the parked cars array. some cars remain parked overnight. Comm. Preger stated that this area is beconing adifferent business environnent from uhat nas needed inthe past. DIr. Dellarray suggested two spaces be made a green zone. conm. Klopfer andur. ltartin advised that they have 35 - 50 part tine employees vrho cannot find parking at the airport and Avis has no other options for providing parking. Avis sends a shuttle to cowan Road to transport its enployees to andfron the airport for each shlft. They also advised they are studying the situation to help aLleviate the problem. comm. Evans advised that this situation has beenaffecting other businesses in the area (see New BusinessItem 5.1). staff stated it was reported that the employees are not acting as good neighbors. comm. Evans suggested that if additional conplaints are recej.ved, the Conmission may have to take action to prevent enployees fron parking indefinitely in this area. It was noved and seconded (Conn.
