DELLAWAY, TRAFFIC ENGINEER DORIS }IORTENSEN, SECRETARY Thi.s rneeting was a result of the Rollins Road/Adrian Road AreaStudy as established by this Comnission at their June 10, 1993neetj.ng to effect standard conditions for parking zones requestedin the aforementioned area. The meeting opened with a general discusEion of r^rhat the policy should include. Both the left side and the right side of driveways were discussed, including a two-foot red zone on the right, a 50-foot window on the left for exiting carrs vielr, helght Liroitationsigns, etc. Staff suggested that a notion be made designating theplacement of a 2-foot red zone on the right side of the drivewayunless the City Engineer finds necessary obstacles, e.9., hydrantsor trailers that rrould required extension of the red zone. Comnissioners agTreed that a red zone on the left lrould benecessary. It was noved and seconded (Comn. Amoroso/ Simonetti )that for the area bounded by Rollins Road on the west side, Bayshore Freeway on the east side, Marsten north to City Limits, a4O-foot red zone be installed on the left side of the drivewayunless the area is already signed for height Iinit parking; unanimously approved by the Comnission. Green zones sere also discussed with a suggestion that such requests not be made into Action Itens without the normal course ofappearing first as New Business, then Discussion, and then finallyAction. This allows for a nore thorough investigation by theConmissioners and contact with neighbors of the petitioner fortheir input. It was noved and seconded (Conn. Ilayer/Anoroso) that each green zone request be investigated individually prior to anyaction taken,' unanimously approved by the Conmission. t{ J R D D A The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.n.
