CALL TO ORDER. 7:00 p.m. by Vice Chairman Norton. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG. Police Sgt. Haseleu. ROLL CALL. Six Commissioners present CURRENT BUSINESS. 4.1 ACTION ITEMS 4.t.t Minutes of June 8, 1995 approved as submitted by the Commission. Comm. Simonetti questioned if Council received correspondence on Discussion ltem 4.2.2 asking them to look at funding for a traffic signal at California/Carmelita. Sgt. Haseleu advised that this item was discussed with the Chief of Police and some Council members and there is a possibility that Caltrain will provide some money. This item will be brought up as a Discussion Item next month. 4.1.2 Yellow Zones in the Lorton/Donnelly/Burlingame Avenue and Primrose Road Area Mr. Dellaway provided a map of the area's zones. Presently, there are 10 yellow zones. The concern is should we have more; where; and should any be eliminated? Mr. Dellaway recommended moving the one on Primrose at Donnelly more northerly to provide better visibility at the corner. It was moved and seconded (Comm. Karp/ Preger) to retain the current yellow zones in this area. Comm. Evans suggested adding staff's recommendation. It was then moved and seconded (Comm. Karp/Evans) to retain the current yellow zones in the Lorton/Donnelly/Burlingame Avenue and Primrose Road Area and per staff s recommendation to move the yellow zone on Primrose at Donnelly more northerly; unanimously approved by the Commission. 4.t.3 Request to Change Two 2-Hour Meters to 24 or 48 Minute Meters at 1245 Howard Avenue Sgt. Haseleu suggested making the whole street L-hour parking meters. It was moved and seconded (Comm. Norton/Karp) to deny this request and to request a study from staff to consider changing the parking meters to a uniform time on Howard between Primrose and California. Mr. Dellaway stated he will prepare a report and map for the next meeting. July 13, 1995 2 3 4 U \- -2- \- U Traffic, Safety and Parking Commission Minutes 4.2 DISCUSSION ITEMS. July 13, 1995 4.2.1 Request for a Green Zone at 822-826 Mahler Road Mr. Dellaway sees no problem with this request. Sgt. Haseleu advised that if there are violators, someone must notify the Police Dept. to enforce the zone. It was moved and seconded (Comm. Evans/Simonetti) to move this to an Action item immediately and to approve this request; unanimously approved by the Commission. 5. INACTIVE ITEMS. 5.1 Grove Avenue Citations - Monthly Results (Inactive since 6/95) Sgt. Haseleu advised the computer is still not able to provide a count of citations; however the radar trailer is still placed here and speed enforcers are present. 6. NEW BUSINESS. 6.1 Request for a Stop Sign at Intersection of Oak Grove Avenue and Crossway Road. Stop signs are already on Crossway Road. This request is for Stop signs on Oak Grove. Mr. Dellaway advised that requests for Stop signs have been received for other intersections on Oak Grove and that there are speed limit signs already posted. This will be a Discussion item at the next meeting. 7. INFORMATION ITEMS. 7.r Comm. Karp requested that the trees be trimmed at CarmelitalCortez since the trees hide the Stop sign. Mr. Dellaway will issue a work order to have this done. 7.2 Comm. Norton asked why 10 spaces were coned off at the Library garage. Mr Dellaway advised they are repairing leaks. 8. FROM THE FLOOR. 9.
