1. CALL TO ORDER. 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Evans.

4.1 ACTION ITEMS.
4.1. I Minutes of April lO, 1997 approved as submitted by the Commission'
4.1.2 Request for Green and White Zones at 801 Howard Avenue (lVashington
School)
Commission and staff reviewed request and diagram received from
petitioner. Ms. Delantoni advised that the BIS bus uses the red zone twice
i day, Washington students are not present at those times; therefore
changing the red zone to white would not affect the bus stop use. It was
moved and seconded (Comm. Auran/Mayer) to approve request for changes
as presented: (1) change white zone to a green zone on Howard Avenue,
(2aJ change red zone to a white zone on Arundel Road, (2b) add two white
zones on Arundel Road, and (3) add two white zones on Anita Road;
unanimously approved by the Commission.

Request for one "No Parking" Space at 825 Matrler Road
Petitioner was not present. There was some discussion that semis use the
driveway at this locale and need more than red tips at the driveway to
prevent parked cars ftom taking up needed space. Mr. Dellaway
iecommended installing a red zone on each side of the driveway and will
determine the necessary length of the zone. It was moved and seconded
(Comm. Mayer/Preger) to make this an Action item. It was then moved and
seconded (Comm. Mayer/Preger) to approve stalf s recommendation;
unanimously approved by the Commission.
Request to kngthen loading Zone ' 250 Myrtle Road (on Burlingame
Avenue)
Petitioner was not present' Sgt. Haseleu advised that a semi off-loads at this
sight and more space is needed recommending extending the yellow zone
ldto 15 feet westerly and installing a red zone (for an existing SamTrans
bus stop) at that point, continuing westward to the corner. Although two
parking spaces would be lost, there is a public parking lot across the street'

6.1 Traffic Control at Murchison/California Drive Intersection

6.2 Make Recommendations for Either l- or 2-Hour parking Meters on BurlingameAvenue and/or Side Streets
currently these parking meters are for one hour except at corners (24-minutemeters). sgt. 6.3 Re.quest for Larger speed Limit signs and a stop sign on oak Grovd Avenue atWinchester Drive
Mr. Denaway recommended that the police Departmeff study/enforce this area.From the floor, the petitioner advised that a good time for the police to monitoris during ure higl schools runch hour. sgt. H-asereu advised that the radar tra,erhas been in use there recently. His statr tas been advised to watch this area, andhe w,l report back at the next meeting. 7. INFORMATION ITEMS.
7.1 Correspondence regarding Denial of Request for Pedestrian Crossing on Rollins
Road
There was no discussion of this item. ktter was informational only.
7.2 Mr. Della*ay discussed the City Manager's memo addressing the Brown Act. All
Commissioners had received a copy and had no questions or comments. The
Commission thanks the City Attorney for his offei to further discuss the Brown
Act or any other commission concem; however, declines his offer.
