1. CALL TO ORDER. 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Evans.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG. Ird by Ch. Evans.

CURRENT BUSINESS
4.T ACTION ITEMS.
4.1.L Minutes of January 9,1997 approved as submitted by the Commission.
4.1.2 Request for Safety Measures on Fox PlazaLane
Comms. Auran and Preger agreed with Mr. Dellaway's suggestion to
provide striping on Fox Plazal-arrc at the building's exit. It was moved and
seconded (Comm. Auran/Simonetti) to put cautionary striping to keep cars
away from Fox Mall pedestrian exit area; unanimously approved by the
Commission.
4.1.3 Request for Height Restrictions for Parked Vehicles on Bellevue Avenue
Discussion ensued comparing height signs to red zones. It was moved and
seconded (Comm. Mayer/Preger) to place a 20-foot* red zone left of the
driveway and adjust length of existing red zone right of the driveway
according to staff's determination; unanimously approved by the
Commission.
4.2 DISCUSSION ITEMS. None
5. INACTIVE ITEMS. None
6. NEW BUSINESS
6.1 Request for Crosswalks and/or Flashing Pedestrian Signals on Rollins Road
Sgt. Haseleu stated he receives nrmerous complaints about parking since the gym
is busy daytimes and R.O.P. is busy nighttimes. Mr. Dellaway recommended no
crosswalks at mid-block which is the only location available. It was moved and
seconded to move this to a Discussion Item next month.

6.2 Request for Red Zone ot Cabrillo Avenue at Hillside Drive
Sgt. Haseleu stated that on Sundays this narrow street accommodates parking on
both sides of the street making it difficult for two cars to pass each other. It was
moved and seconded to make this a Discussion Item next month.
7. INFORMATION ITEMS.
7.1 Ch. Evans asked about Bayswater Avenue complaints from residents. The new
traffic signs reflect that restrictions are in effect.
7.2 Mr. Dellaway advised that the rubberized crossings project goes to bid in July.
Also, the PUC sent a letter providing funding for railroad gates for Oak Grove and
Morrell pedestrian crossing.
7.3 Comm. Mayer asked about traffic conffol from office. Mr. Dellaway advised that
a current project will provide this control for Bayshore at Mitten, Stanton and
Mahler Roads.
7.4 Sgt. Haseleu advised new parking meters on Burlingame Avenue and Broadway
are in operation and provided $4500/month in revenues from Burlingame Avenue
alone.
7.5 Comm. Auran mentioned the grade separation discussions that are coming up for
Broadway.
Mr. Dellaway suggested that this Commission become more involved with the
City's interests in traffic and parking issues. Ch. Evans will discuss with the
Mayor.
Comm. Auran asked Mr. Dellaway to provide a rough sketch of a potential parking
lot in place of the U.S. Post Office lawn area on the Lorton Avenue side. This will
be New Business next month.
