CT]RRENT BUSINESS. 4.1 ACTION ITEMS. 4.1.1 Minutes of June 10, 1999, were submitted and approved. 5. INACTIVE ITEMS. None. 6. NEWBUSINESS, 6.1 Request to Move Yellow Loading Zollre at 301 California Drive Mr. Ho handed out more pictures of this site showing double parked trucks which deliver to the two restaurants fronting this block, namely Burlingame Station (Steelhead Brewing Company) and Left at Albuquerque. He had been advised that trucks parked in the yellow zone also encroach into the adjacent red zone. This is often the case when the length of the truck exceeds the length of the yellow loading zone which is 24 feet long, or when two trucks are parked one behind the other. Trucks parked in the yellow zone usually reduce the width of the travel lane to less than 10 feet, making it unsafe for vehicles to pass without crossing into the adjacent travel lane. Mr. Ho recommended moving the yellow loading zone northerly and extending it to 45 feet and removing one 2-hour metered curb space. It was moved and seconded (Comms. EvansiMayer) to make this an Action Item immediately; it was then moved and seconded (Comms. Evans/ Mayer) to extend the existing yellow zone northerly to 61 feet and remove two 2-hour metered curb spaces. Unanimously approved by the Commission. Request to Change Parking Meter Time from 24 Minutes to 2 Hours at 311 California Drive Mr. Ho advised that the manager of Shear Magic requested that the existing green zone at this site be changed to a 2-hour metered space, especially since the remaining parking spaces on this block have 2-hour meters. There appears to be no need for a 2 J 6.2 a green zone at this site. It was moved and seconded (Comms. Simonetti/Evans) to make this an Action Item immediately; it was then moved and seconded (Cornms. Evans/ Mayer) to recommend to Council to change the existing green zone to a 2-hour metered parking space. Unanimously approved by the Commission. 7. INFORMATION ITEMS. 7.1 Comm. Simonetti requested that future requests to this Commission be written and include who is making the request and why. 7.2 Comm. Auran stated that tlrc rwo mid-block brick pedestrian crosswalks on the 1400 block of Burlingame Avenue are difficult to identi$ for some drivers because they are not marked with white paint. Comm. Simonetti disagreed and stated that vehicles generally drive slowly on Burlingame Avenue so motorists do not have difficulties seeing the brick crosswalks. Comm. Simonetti does not believe that the crosswalks need to be marked with white paht. t.3 Comm. Simonetti stated that the Eucalyptus trees on Easton Drive continue to encroach into the street farther and appear to be taking over the driving lanes space. 8. FROMTHEFLOOR. None. 9.
