ORDINANCE No. 1502
URGENCY ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
STOP SIGN AT ANITA ROAD AND BURLINGAME AVENUE
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does
hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. Subsection 115 is hereby added to Section
13.20.010 of the Burlingame Municipal Code to read as follows:
"115. Burlingame Avenue approaching Anita Road;"
Section 2. It is hereby declared that there is a
current and immediate threat to the public health, safety and
welfare and this ordinance is therefore an urgency measure as
provided by law, and will take effect upon its adoption.
The facts constituting such urgency are as follows:
This intersection has extensive pedestrian traffic due to the
playground in Washington Park, the nursery school, senior programs
and other activities at the Recreation Center, and extensive
vehicular traffic from said activities, as well as being heavily
traveled by SamTrans busses. The lack of stop signs could result
in injuries to accidents from such traffic. It is likely that the
hazard to the public will increase as the school year ends. It is
therefore necessary that this ordinance be adopted as an urgency
