2 ORDINANCE No. 1516
3 ORDINANCE ADOPTING REVISED REQUIREMENTS
4 FOR STEEL MOMENT RESISTING FRAME BUILDINGS
5 The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does
6 hereby ordain as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 18.08.307 is hereby added to the
8 Burlingame Municipal Code to read as follows:
9 "18.08.307 Section 2710 (g) 1 B deleted and section
10 2710 (g) 1 C amended - Alternate connection.
11 Section 2710 (g) 1 B is deleted.
12 Section 2710 (g) 1 C is amended to read as follows:
13 'Connection strength. Connection configurations
14 utilizing welds or high-strength bolts shall demonstrate by
15 approved cyclic test results or calculation, the ability to
16 sustain inelastic rotation and develop the strength criteria in
17 Section 2211.7.1.1 considering the effect of steel overstrength
18 and strain hardening."'
19 Section 2. This ordinance shall be published as
20 required by law.
