THE
MUNICIPAL
CODE
REGULATING
RIGHT
TURNS
AT
RED
OR STOP
SIGNALS
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain
as follows:
Section 1. §13.16.070 of the Burlingame Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
"13.16.070 Right Turn at Stop Signals
(a) Vehicular traffic facing a red alone or
stopon an official traffic control signal shall
stop at a limit line wherever located. If there
is no limit line, vehicular traffic facing the sig-
nal shall stop before entering a crosswalk on the
near side of the intersection, or, if none, then
before entering an intersection. Vehicular traffic
shall remain standing until green or 'go' is shown
alone, except as provided in the next succeeding
subparagraphs.
(b) The driver of
a vehicle which is stopped
as close as practicable at the entrance to the
crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or,
if none, then at the entrance to the intersection
in obedience to a red or 'stop' signal, may make a
right turn, but shall yield the right-of-way to
pedestrians and other traffic proceeding as dir-
ected by the signal at said intersection, except
that:
(1) Between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and
6:00 p.m. the driver of a vehicle proceeding
southerly on the El Camino Real and approach-
ing the intersection of the El Camino Real
and Trousdale Drive shall stop said vehicle
as herein provided and shall remain standing
until green or 'go' is shown alone.
(c) The driver of a vehicle on a one-way
street which intersects another one-way street on
which traffic moves to the left shall stop in
obedience to a red or 'stop' signal but may then
make a left turn into said one'way street, but
shall yield right-of-way to pedestrians and other
traffic proceeding as directed by the signal at
said intersection.

(d) No pedestrian shall enter the roadway
or cross any part of the roadway or proceed from
or to a safety zone against a red or 'stop' sig-
nal."
Section 2. The Director of Public Works is directed
and ordered to procure and install appropriate .signs giving
notice of the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as
required by law.

sixth day of November r 1972, and adopted thereafter at
