AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9.04.011(a),
AND 9.04.020 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
AND INCREASING DOG LICENSE
FEES AND FEES FOR IMPOUNDING
AND KEEPING DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain
ias follows:
Section l: Section 9.04'.011 of the Municipal Code is
.:amended to read and provides
§
9.04.011
Dog license fee.
(a}
An annual
license fee
in
the following amounts
shall
be paid for
each dog which is more than three months old and is
owned, kept, harbored or possessed within the city:
Male and unspayed Female dogs
in the amount of $7.00
Spayed female dogs
in the amount of $3.50
The license fee shall be due and payable on the first
day of January of each year. Any person who fails or
neglects to pay the license fee on or before the first
of March of each year as license Fee becomes due, shall
be deemed delinquent, and shall pay a penalty in the
amount of Four Dollars ($4.00). Any person who comes
into ownership of or commences to harbor, keep or pos-
Bess a dog over the age of three months, after the first
of March of each year, shall within thirty days, obtain
a license as herein provided for the remainder of the
license year in the full amount hereinabove provided.

Section 2: Section 9.04.020 of the Municipal Code is
amended to read and provide:
§ 9.04.020 Dogs running at large a nuisance -
Impounding - Redemption or sale. It is unlawful for any
person to allow any dog owned or controlled by him or her
to run at large and uncontrolled within the City, and any
dog so running at large or uncontrolled is hereby de -
Glared to be a
nuisance and it shall
be the
duty of the
humane officer
to immediately impound
such
dog in the pub-
lic pound where
it may be redeemed by
the owner
or person
entitled to the possession thereof, within five days
thereafter on payment in full o£ fees in accordance with
the Following schedule:
(1) For impounding any dog the sum of Ten Dollars
($10.00), for the first occurrence, the sum of
Twenty Dollars ($20.00), for
the second occur-
rence, and the sum of Thirty Dollars ($30.00)
for each occurrence thereafter.
(2) The sum of Three Dollars ($3.00) per day for
boarding and keeping any impounded dog.
(3) For posting notice of animals impounded, the
sum of One Dollar ($1.00) for each notice.
(4) For conducting sales, the sum of One Dollar
($1.00) for each animal sold.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be published as re-
quired by law. 1
