AN URGENCY ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
PARKING METER ZONES AND FEES

The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 13.40.020 of the Burlingame Municipal Code is
hereby amended
to read as follows:
"13.40.020
Establishment of Parking Meter Zones and Fees.

The streets hereinafter described are hereby defined and
established
as parking meter zones. The parking of vehicles upon
such
portions of said streets and at such times as may be designated
by
resolution of the City Council shall be controlled, regulated
and
inspected with the aid of parking meters.

Broadway from El Camino Real to California Drive.
2,
Chula Vista Avenue from Broadway to Carmelita Avenue,
3.
Laguna Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Carmelita Avenue.
4.
Paloma Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Carmelita Avenue.
5.
Capuchino Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Carmelita Avenue,
6.
California Drive from Peninsula Avenue to Bellevue Avenue.
7.
Donnelly Avenue from Primrose Road to Lorton P,venue.
8.
Carolan Avenue from South Lane to North Lane.
9.
South Lane from Carolan Avenue to California Drive.
10.
Highland Avenue from Howard Avenue to California Drive,

Lorton Avenue from Howard Avenue to Bellevue Avenue.
12.
Park Road from Howard Avenue to Burlingame Avenue.
13.
Primrose Road from Howard Avenue to Bellevue Avenue.
14.
Howard Avenue from El Camino Real to Highland Avenue.
15.
Burlingame Avenue from E1 Camino Real to California Drive.
The Chief of Police shall cause parking meters to be installed
and
shall cause parking meter spaces to be designated as hereinafter
provided, and shall fix the time limitations for legal parking
in such
zones and the hours during the day and night when the parking
meter

or meters must be used and when the time limitations shall be
effective, in compliance with the provisions of this chapter; and
shall indicate the time limitations by designating the same on
the parking meter or meters by appropriate signs posted in proximity
to said parking meter or meters in said zones. The parking meter
fees for the parking meter zones shall be one cent (14) for each
twelve (12) minutes of parking time."
Section 2. Urgency Clause. It is hereby declared that this
ordinance is an ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
safety, health and welfare, and is an urgency measure as provided by law, and
shall take effect upon its passage.
The facts constituting such urgency are as follows:
The Vehicle Code of the State of California requires that parking
meter zones be specifically designated by ordinance of the City Council. If
this ordinance so designating parking meter zones did not take effect
immediately the control of traffic and parking in the retail commercial
zones of the City would be seriously affected, thereby endangering the health
and safety of the persons using such areas.

Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as required by
HERBERT K. WHITE, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, does
hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was introduced and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 1st day of December, 19755
by the following four-fifths vote:
