ORDINANCE NO. 1610
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AMENDING SECTION 2.04.030
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE AN INCREASE IN
COUNCILMEMBER SALARIES
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. In May 1991, the City adopted an ordinance providing for Councilmember
salazies of $400 per month. Eight yeazs have now passed without any further increase, while
the cost of living has increased, and the demands on Councilmembers' time in regional and multi -
agency activities as well as direct City issues have increased. The increase in salary provided in
this ordinance is less than that allowed by Government Code Section 36516, is consistent with
salary increases granted to City employees, and is consistent with salaries in other cities in the
County.
Section 2. Section 2.04.030 is amended to read as follows:
2.04.030 Salary and reimbursement.
(a) Salaries. Each member of the council shall receive as salary
the sum of five hundred
ninety dollazs per month. It shall be payable at the same time and in the same manner as the
salaries paid to other officers and employees of the city.
(b) Reimbursement. The salaries prescri

Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective on November 22, 1999, and be
published as required by law.
