HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 16361 2 3 4 51 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ORDINANCE NO. 1636 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BURL1NGAME AMENDING CHAPTER 3.40 TO PROVIDE A MONTHLY STIPEND TO THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. The Planning Commission works long and difficult hours in evaluating, hearing, and deciding land use applications presented to them. In order to encourage citizens to participate as commissioners, some compensation should be offered for the loss in income and family time that commissioners experience. Provision of a monthly stipend shall not entitle commissioners to any other city benefits. Section Z. Section 3.40.010 is amended to read as follows: 3.40.010 Organization -- Terms of members -- Compensation. There is a planning commission of the city, consisting of seven members appointed by the council. They shall hold office for a term offour years, or until their respective successors have been appointed and qualified. At the time of their application for the commission and throughout their terms as commissioners, they shall be registered, qualified electors of the city. The members shall receive a stipend of two hundred dollars ($200) per month during their service on the commission. Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as required by law. r I, ANN T.
