ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AMENDING CHAPTER 18.07 TO REVISE THE HOURS
FOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. The City has established building construction hours to provide relief from
ongoing construction that may occur. It appears that the hours set for Saturday construction may
begin too early, so this ordinance changes the start time to 9 a.m. This ordinance does not increase
the hours of operation of any equipment that maybe regulated by other provisions of the Municipal
Code. This ordinance does not apply to public agency construction projects of streets and sewers,
and similar public agency, non -building projects.
Section 2. Section 18.07.110 is amended to read as follows:
18.07.110 Section 305.1 —General (Hours of Construction).
A new first sentence is added to Section 305.1 to read as follows:
No person shall erect (including excavation and grading), demolish, alter or repair any
building or structure other than between the hours of seven a.m. an
d seven p.m. on weekdays, nine
a.m. and six p.m. on Saturdays, and ten a.m. and six p.m. on Sundays and holidays, except in the
case of urgent necessity in the interest of public health and safety, and then only with written
approval from the building official, which approval shall be granted for aperiod not to exceed three
days. For the purpose of this section, holidays are the days set forth in Section 13.04. 100 of this
code.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as required by law.
